I learned the most powerful lesson about raising kids from Kahlil Gibran, author of the perennial best seller, ”The Prophet.” In it, he writes, ”Your children are not your children...They come through you but not from you, and though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You give them your love but not your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts."
In other words, my children have their own minds. They have total freedom to choose the directions they want their lives to take. Just like me, they will make their own mistakes and learn from them. What do you think?
True I pray always my daughters make good choices
