The best interpretation of the biblical love passage that I have come across.
"Love is patient (doesn't give up easily).
Love is kind (treats others with respect, even if it's not returned).
Love doesn't envy ( it is grateful for what one has, without focusing on what one doesn't have).
Love does not boast, is not proud (doesn't treat others as inferior).
Love isn't rude ( responds to others with integrity).
Love isn't self-seeking (doesn't put our needs ahead of others).
Love isn't easily angered.
( emphasis on "easily").
Love doesn't keep track of wrongs (doesn't build a case against another person, but handles each situation as it happens).
Love doesn't delight in evil but rejoices with truth ( sees relationships accurately).
Love never fails ( continues to act in the best interest of others)."
