A man who was upset about his life came to talk to his minister. " Look," he pleaded, "I have patiently waited for my turn to get lucky, but without much success. I have seen my friends, who did not possess half of my skills and abilities, offered all kinds of opportunities. When am I going to get my big chance in life? Pastor, when am I going to get my lucky break? When?"
With compassion and a little dose of firmness, his pastor told the dejected man that opportunity beckons to everyone all the time. The challenge is that it's not easy to recognize. Then, he shared the great Napoleon Hill's fascinating insight:
" ( Opportunity ) has a sly habit of slipping in by the back door, and often it comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat. Perhaps this is why so many fail to recognize it."
